PIPING TREE GARDENS & NURSERY
13171 Scotchtown Road, Beaverdam, Virginia 23015 U.S.A.
NURSERY CATALOG for Spring and Fall 2012

Piping Tree Gardens & Nursery has been growing native plants since 1979 when Magnolias were first brought from the Low Country of South Carolina and planted with the American hollies and large pine trees. The large Rhododendrons planted near the driveway originated from southern West Virginia and provide an additional attraction to visitors in summer. Guided tours of the extensive garden and woodland trails are available from early March to late November on Saturdays by appointment. Nursery is open from September to December on Sundays from 1 to 5 pm. Tours of our mountain woodland in West Virginia are also offered on Sundays in May when the native azaleas are in full bloom.
Selections of our magnolias, native hollies (Ilex species and cultivars), native azaleas, (Rhododendron species and cultivars) and rare native plants can be seen at several botanical gardens: Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain, Georgia; The Dawes Arboretum in Ohio, Tanglewood Arboretum at University of Alabama, University of Georgia at Athens, University of Georgia at Tifton, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, National Native Azalea Collection, North Carolina Arboretum at Asheville, and Prague Botanical Garden at Prague, Troja, Czech Republic.
The plants offered in this retail catalog were mostly found in the wild in central Virginia or southern West Virginia. A few exotic plants are offered to create additional interest for those who want a greater selection. All plants are either seed grown or grown from cuttings and planted in aged pine bark mulch. We also carry several very difficult to find herbaceous perennials, especially the rare and beautiful Shortia galacifolia.
Planting a well designed landscape bed with attractive and unusual plants increases the value of your home and creates a healthy environment for people, birds, and wildlife. Not only will the plants be enjoyed for many years to provide year-round interest with colors and form, but a link is created with nature. An extensive garden planted with many species of plants can also be an educational experience for adults and children of all ages to enjoy.
Wishing you a healthy and very good gardening year for 2011 from the nursery team at Piping Tree Gardens & Nursery.

2012 Nursery catalog

2012 Nursery catalog

PIPING TREE GARDENS & NURSERY
13171 Scotchtown Road, Beaverdam, Virginia 23015 U.S.A.
NURSERY CATALOG Spring and Fall 2012
